My Photographs from a game of Rugby Union played in West Yorkshire on 28th February 2015
Both these teams are based in West Yorkshire and were playing a local derby league game which created a little more tension than usual.
"Bradford and Bingley vs Ilkley"
The afternoon was wet and dismal but this did not deter the spectators enthusiasm.
For sporting events my camera is a Canon 7d coupled with a Sigma 70-200 2.8 lens all mounted on a Slik monopod.
On the winter cloudy afternoons the camera ISO I usually start at 800 and increase as the afternoon progresses and light is lost. I find the 7d handles high ISO very well.
The images are edited in Adobe Lightroom.
Next Saturday will be Ilkley vs Dinnington which promises to be an action filled game.
Hope you enjoy my photographs from the game by following the link.

Rugby Photography, Ilkley RFC
During the rugby season I can be found most Saturday afternoons photographing rugby union, usually Ilkley RFC vs their opponents of the day.
Quite a lot of the time I seem to spend these Saturday afternoons in adverse weather conditions and need to be well insulated, boots, big coat, hat, scarf and most essential gloves to keep my fingers warm while operating the camera.
I post these photographs to one of my websites Ruggerpix giving supporters who could not attend the game a chance to view from the comfort of home.

Poster Design by Image and Style
One of our local venues in Addingham, nr Ilkley decided to host an 'Open Mic' evening complimented with chinese food and a book signing by author Stephen Mosley.
We were asked to design and produce a poster for the event. It was an interesting and appetising project with lots of food photography.
'Collinson Twin' Adam and Stephen are both big fans of Hammer Horror Films and took their name from the twins Madeleine and Mary Collinson, the stars of Hammer's 1971 vampire film TWINS OF EVIL, also starring Peter Cushing.
Adam works as a teaching assistant in Harrogate, and also plays solo gigs at such venues as the Half Moon Inn in Pool, and the Red Lion in Burley in Wharfedale.
Stephen is actor and writer. His book of strange tales THE BOY WHO LOVED SIMONE SIMON (which I also illustrated) is out now, and was selected by ENTERTAINMENT FOCUS as one of the 10 Best Books of 2011!

The 1940s in Haworth
From experience we think for photography it is best to arrive about 9.30am and photograph until lunchtime after which it is usually to busy and packed in the main street for what we call comfortable photography.
During that time though you will see a huge range of characters, uniforms, WW2 equipment and civilian attire.
All photographs from this event will soon soon be transferred to our Image Library - see link below.
In the near future several of the images on our websites will be available on a rights managed basis for media use, advertisements, websites, magazines, publishers, travel books, etc. through our image library.
They may
also help find your next film/video location.

Photography on the Wall
Quite by chance earlier this week I came across a very interesting artists studio in Ilkley. I was walking along Leeds Road on my way home when I almost stumbled over an advertising 'A' board that had blown over onto the pavement, whilst picking it up and putting it back on display saw it was advertising an artists studio the 'Art Loft'. This was one I had not heard of before and as I was always on the lookout for places to exhibit our fine art photographs I decided to take a look.
Eventually found the studio tucked away behind Ilkley's main auction house, Hartleys.
Had a good chat with the owner /artist Liz Sutcliffe ( lizarra ) and discovered that her paintings have been finding their way into private collections all over the world. Liz has also accepted commissions from Italy and America as well as London.
As well as exhibiting her own work Liz has works by other artists hanging on the walls which give the studio a real feeling of warmth and vibrance. One of Liz's pastels 'Partners' is really impressive, in fact stunning, don't take my word for it, visit the Art Loft Studio or visit the website www.lizaraartloft.com
I am pleased to say that Liz has allowed Photography on the Wall to exhibit several of our fine art photographs at her studio.
